Hospital Sitter Service

Hospital stays can often be frightening, lonely and unsafe for anyone, but they can be especially difficult for seniors. Hospital staff does not have time to provide one-on-one care and are often responsible for too many patients. It can be a long wait between the time your loved one pushes a call button (if they are capable of doing so) and the time it takes to have hospital personnel respond to that call. Dementia, disorientation and medication contribute to the possibility of falls or delayed response from hospital staff.

At Kansas City Home Care, Inc., we know that being at the hospital bedside of a loved one 24/7 can be draining and oftentimes impossible due to work and family commitments. That's why we offer a Hospital Sitter Service. Our qualified staff can provide round-the-clock companionship and advocacy, so you can take the time necessary to care for your own needs.

Our Hospital Sitter Service includes:

• Assisting with meals and feeding
• Providing companionship
• Seeking help or information from the hospital/facility nurse when needed
• Supervising patient (i.e. ensuring patient stays in bed, IVs remain in place, etc.)
• Entertaining (crafts, games, reading, etc.)
